Turning things around

I'll be honest. Today, I am cranky.

Hey, it happens. It isn't the end of the world, and it is natural. I had a meeting for our younger son to hammer out his individual educational plan for next year. The process is more difficult than it needs to be.

That being said, this is not the hate blog that it could be. I won't give into it.

Today, I realized what I realized again and again daily or weekly.

I am thankful to my parents for giving me a legal education.

I am also thankful that I actually earned said legal education.

I am thankful that my husband and I have so far structured our family so that I can focus my life to care for the many needs of our kids.

I am thankful for the love of family.

I am thankful for the many fantastic friends I have gained over the years.

I am thankful that the one true weakness I have--patience--happens to be the skill my boys are dedicated to teaching me. lolol!

I'm thankful for coffee.

I'm thankful for wine.

I'm thankful for friends who bring me coffee and/or wine.

Ohhh, and I'm really thankful for my husband who readily will turn into a coffee or wine delivery boy (and pizza) any time I need.

I am thankful for humor.

I am thankful for the many good professionals who have walked in and out of our lives to help our sons.

I am thankful for my Mom Cave.

And I am thankful for those of you who care to read it.

Believe it or not. Typing this actually helped. I refuse to give Oprah any credit, since her involvement was only an afterthought. Yay me! It was all me! Every Cave Dweller should try this!

Have a good afternoon!

  1. It's always good to take stock of what you have that really matters, not just the superficial or material possessions.

  2. lol. We would get depressed if we thought about the superficial things. Autism steals from that also. The struggle can wear you down, and this is that time of year when all of my friends are battling for their kids. Our family is back to carrying two IEPs, so the demands have increased. it is just a shift. I'm adjusting to the shift. Thankful that I can.
