Blogging A to Z!!!

See that button over on the side bar to the right? Click it when you get the chance, and it will take you to a list of some pretty incredible blogs. It's the Blogging A to Z challenge for the month of April. AND I'M DOING IT!

Heaven help you all.

I think I've gotten the whole bunch of us in a world of trouble with one daring move. You see, I thought that signing up for a challenge that pushed me to blog NEARLY EVERY DAY during the month of April would be a great way to jump start my second year here in The Mom Cave.

But, then I realized that you all are going to be hearing from me an awful lot. I'm sorry. I promise, I'll try not to make it painful. We can do this! Consider it a journey!!

However, I must admit to experiencing some pre-A to Z jitters.

After all, this family is about all one gal can handle. I can't be held responsible for anything beyond them. I'm afraid that, after special needs parenting came into my life, I've simply become unreliable. Inevitably, if I plan to meet someone, a family fire will ignite, causing me to cancel my plans. It will. My life is jinxed that way.

Beyond that, well, there are A LOT of things that I SHOULD do regularly but don't simply because I've gotten swept up into the swirling chaos of life. Good gosh. How am I going to blog every day?

Do I even tell my husband that I love him every day? Hm. Scratch that. Do I even remember to look at him before he walks out the door in the morning? Ugh.

Let's think this blogging challenge through.

Things That I Should Do Daily But Don't

1. Look at husband every morning.

Ugh. I feel sick.

And, while I'm at it, I'm going to just get the next four out of the way so that we can share a moment of disgust and move on:

2. bathe
3. brush my teeth
4. wash my hair
5. wash my face
It seems as though my ability to maintain my grooming duties is inversly related to the stress in my life. Perhaps my husband doesn't want me to look at him.

6. speak to my family/tell them that I love them
7. take my vitamins
8. laundry (even just a little so I don't get hit with a mountain later)
9. stop and smell the roses
10. housecleaning (see above reasoning about avoiding mountains)
11. pet the dog-hm, do I pet the dog every day? Oh, poor doggie!
12. collect the mail from our mailbox

What are some things you do every day but don't? I'm sure that I'm missing a couple.

In my defense, and before you abandon me completely, might I just say that am able to do these things with regularity. But, EVERY DAY?

Ugh.

One thing is certain, friends: failure is not an option. It might be that I blog on the way to bathroom duty. It may be that I blog at 3am while our son is pulling a one-man party up in his bedroom. It might even be that I run into my Cave and throw something together while the Little Cave People are pounding at my door. But, it will get done in Mom Cave fashion!

I hope you will experience this challenge with me! Blogging A to Z begins Sunday, April 1, 2012, and will run every day (except for following Sundays) during the month of April. Each blog entry will be prompted by a letter of the alphabet.

*Crossing fingers starting now*

See you then!

    1. Adrenaline has kicked in, but I don't know if I'll get my fingers to move. BTW, have I mentioned that BOTH of my kids have HUGE issues going on right now? lol! Great time to be jumping into committments outside of them!

      Nuts...

  2. It will be great! Now do two things. Go look at your husband, and then ask him to write down the alphabet for you. You might need a reminder!

    1. Ok. You took care of the alphabet. Thx. Now all I have to do is to remember to look at my husband.

I glanced at him this morning, but I know that doesn't count.

  4. Did you hear the announcement by the CDC today?? 1 in 88 kids are now being diagnosed with autism. When my 17 year old son was diagnosed it was 1 in 3000. This has nothing to do with your blog, I'm just curious as to how you feel about the "news".

    1. Yes, of course we all heard it, didn't we? I don't think anyone in the autism community is surprised by this recent jump. I'll tell you what surprises me, and that is to see that it was 1 in 3000 17 years ago for you! Now, that puts it into perspective for me!!!

  5. Go, go, go, Amy! I'm really looking forward to your words of wisdom (or foolishness, whatever you feel like giving us) every day. I know it will be both entertaining and moving. I don't know how I'm going to do it, either, but I'm giving it my best try. See you out there!

  6. You make me feel ashamed because I was afraid to sign up. I know you can do it though. Go Amy!

  7. Don't feel ashamed!!! (Although it isn't too late to register if you are still consodering it). Last year, my blog was not even a month old when this challenge started, but I REALLY wanted to try-despite this life and despite the fact that I knew nothing about blogging. Lol! It may push me, but in the end I think it will be a whole lot of fun!
